In March of 2020, we began initiating soft closure procedures at our Villa Group and Tafer resorts. Before closures, during the closures, and now—our focus remains on the safety and well-being of our members, their families, and the staff at our resorts. While closed, our resorts have continued to maintain upkeep of the properties, performed preventative maintenance, made renovations, implemented enhanced cleaning, sanitization, and social distancing protocols, ensuring that our resorts and team members were prepared for your return. Member Karen Cabrera and her family recently traveled to Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta following the government mandated shutdowns that took place across the world. Below she shares a brief recap of their extraordinary experience.
“After having to cancel two trips due to Covid-19, we arrived at the airport at Puerto Vallarta on July 3, 2020. It took less than half the time to get through immigration and customs. Our temperatures were taken upon arrival.
We arrived early to Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta, but we were able to check-in early. We had reservations for a Junior Suite, but Iris Luna upgraded us to a beautiful One-Bedroom Suite with a fabulous view and wrapped around the balcony! The resort is limited to a 25% capacity. I’ve never seen it so uncrowded and hopefully never will again!
We felt SO SAFE and were SO SPOILED by the staff that we changed our return tickets to stay an additional 10 days! Here’s why:
The resort has made an effort to bring back all of its employees. Staff members wear face shields or masks all of the time. Hand sanitizing stations everywhere. Rooms and high touch areas sanitized frequently. Social distancing observed everywhere.
We celebrated our 9th-anniversary mid-week. We found our bedroom arranged in rose petals, saying Happy Anniversary #9 and a beautiful flower bouquet! Thank you, Martina Hernandez, our housekeeper, for the special touch! Earlier in the week, we enjoyed a couple’s massage. The activities staff sent us a special dessert plate too! Thanks, Abraham and Monse! The owners’ welcome night was quiet but fun. Our concierge, Vanessa, also spoiled us with two daily welcome beverage tickets!
It’s been so wonderful to return to our home away from home, see our friendly staff, and meet new friends. It’s really going to be hard to return to the states when this week is over.”
