Member Frederick Schiff recently traveled to Villa La Estancia Riviera Nayarit following the government-mandated shutdowns that took place across the world. Below they share a brief recap of their extraordinary experience.
Hola friends!
In early June of this year (2020), my wife and I decided that we had to go on vacation! Three months of COVID-19 restrictions, coupled with all work and no play had left us exhausted. We made a last-minute booking and flew from Alaska Airlines to Puerto Vallarta.
We had all of the common concerns about traveling anywhere, particularly out of the country. My wife asked numerous questions of the Villa La Estancia/Flamingo (ResortCom Member Services) booking agent, who was both knowledgeable and understanding. In these uncertain times, we decided that the benefits outweighed the risks and took the chance.
Alaska Airlines uses HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air quality) filters and all unrelated people sat at least one space apart on the plane. During our flight experience, everyone wore face masks from the moment we entered the airport until when we arrived at Villa La Estancia. It is our belief that we were safer on our flight than when we shop at Safeway [back in the U.S.A]!
When we arrived, the taxi driver cleaned the seats in front of us with disinfectant and wore a mask the entire time (as did we). We could not believe how clean the resort was! We never once saw an employee not wearing a mask, even when we went through the private employee areas, everyone wore a mask religiously! Employees continuously cleaned every surface in front of us…..they cleaned everything!
Our confidence couldn’t have been higher. Even when we ventured out to restaurants at the resort. Cleanliness and disinfectant was the rule and there were no exceptions. Our tables were ALWAYS wiped with disinfectants, the bathrooms were obviously cleaned and disinfected continuously. Within our first day we realized that we were safer at Villa La Estancia than we were at home going to work and living a menial lifestyle watching Netflix every night!
We are members of the Villa Group because of their high standards and quality of comfort. What made this trip exceptional was the fact that there were no crowds! Anytime that we went to the pool or beach, there was an open umbrella-covered lounge chair waiting for us and an attendant with towels! What inspired our confidence were the facilities and never relenting employees who made our safety their personal concern. We were so impressed that we extended our stay for three additional days.
We would not hesitate to recommend the Villa Group to anyone who chooses to travel. We sincerely felt safe and protected our entire stay, and are counting the days to when we can return!
