I was recently visiting my family in Southern California when my young niece and nephew asked to go for a ride to the beach. Being a nice Uncle I enthusiastically agreed. As we drove down the road, they impatiently and excitedly asked every few minutes, “Are we there yet?” We all want to get to where we’re going, quickly – especially when the destination is the beach! I am most certain our members have experienced this scenario a time or two. Over the New Year, I sat back and reflected on the thousands of correspondence we receive from you, our members. Some are heartfelt thanks, others are hopes for our partner resorts, and many share their vacation experiences. My hope was, “I want all members to be as excited to visit our resorts and beaches as my niece and nephew were that day.”
Each year we go on a journey together with our members and this past year was no exception. Several resorts were updated with faster and more reliable internet connections, Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta saw a full lobby refresh, Villa del Palmar Cabo started the final phase of their guest room renovations, menus were updated in response to dietary and nutritional requests, some resorts obtained the coveted AAA Four Diamond rating, and the newest resort to join our family, Villa La Valencia Cabo San Lucas, saw great construction progress.
The thousands of members who visit our destinations each year remain a top priority for the Club. We added new social engagement incentives to engage and thank those members who interact on our social pages, evolved the promotional offerings based on your feedback, created quality assurance initiatives for our Las Vegas-based servicing company ResortCom International, and have provided various tools, articles, tips, and “how to” guides to protect members from vacation ownership scams that are ever increasing in the vacation ownership industry.
As we start 2020, we realize that life moves quickly. Daily we each partake in our own journeys. While they may be different, my hope is that each of you can enjoy the journey with us to our destinations, indulging yourself in the world-class hospitality that being part of our Club family offers. The beaches of Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and the beautiful Islands of Loreto are calling your name as they wait to hear you ask…

Why don’t members receive free wifi in their rooms. This has been promised for years and to my knowledge has not yet happened.

The Villa Group is proud to offer in-house internet service. As we are now directly servicing the equipment, we are very excited to be able to offer more value to our Club members by offering *FREE* internet service. (Guests will be charged a nominal fee for the service.) However, in order to maintain adequate service levels and reasonable operating costs, it is necessary to establish device limits for the units. This limitation is not meant to take away from the free service we are so pleased to offer; rather it is a critical measure we must employ to provide the quality of internet services you deserve. The greater the number of devices utilizing the service, the greater the strain on bandwidth, and the greater the effects on overall speed and performance, especially for complex browsing such as streaming media or use of VoIP (voice over IP) systems. We do not want to frustrate you with slower speeds or the necessity to charge.
The only way we can sustain offering the service for free is to carefully monitor the number of devices utilizing the system so that our costs of operation allows us to continue to provide these services in a fair manner. Therefore we have set the following device limits per unit:
Studio: Up to 2 devices Free
One Bedroom: Up to 3 devices Free
Two Bedroom: Up to 4 devices free
Three Bedroom: Up to 6 devices free
We hope you appreciate our intentions with this rule and understand that the limits have been set to ensure that ALL members enjoy ‘staying connected’ while at the resorts. See you soon at a Villa Group property!
