Updated Modification, Cancellation, and Guest Fees

Staying informed about the latest modifications, cancellations and guest fees in your Club can significantly enhance your membership experience and help you plan more effectively. Understanding how these updates impact you is essential for making the most of your membership. Keep reading to learn about the recent changes to our modification, cancellation and guest fees so you can continue to make the most of your membership.  

Life happens, and we understand that plans can change unexpectedly, leading to the need for adjustments in your bookings. By familiarizing yourself with our fee structure, you can make informed decisions that align with your circumstances, ensuring a smoother experience. To assist you further, please see the chart below for our modification, cancellation and guest fees, which outlines the applicable charges based on the timing of any changes you may need to make.  

The chart below reflects an increase in the time members can change the name on a reservation – from 24 hours to a full week!  Please note Gold and VPA members still retain the “one free cancellation” benefit. 

Guest Certificate/Guest Name Change Fees

Managing guest certificates and name changes is an important aspect of maximizing your club membership. Should you wish to transfer your stay to a guest or make a change to the name on an existing reservation, it is essential to be aware of the associated fees. These fees vary based on factors such as the timing of the request and the specific nature of the change. Familiarizing yourself with these charges can help you plan ahead and avoid any surprises. For detailed information on the guest certificate and name change fees, please refer to the chart above. 

Note to Elite Members – the Chart reflects a slight change to the previous “No Guest Fee” benefit. You now have 60 days for ALL new reservations to change the name on a Guest of Member reservation. Plus, you have one FREE Guest Name change per year, along with your existing one Free Cancellation per year. For the majority of Elite members, the new fee structure allows you to retain (in essence) a ‘No Guest Fee’ policy. Most members know the names of the guests they are sending to the resorts and require minimal changes. Fees will only start to be assessed after multiple changes. This decision was made to dissuade members from overusing the “no Guest Fee policy” for last-minute changes, cancellations, and no-shows that prevent other members from utilizing the most demanded inventory.  

No Show Fee 

The no-show fee applies when a member does not check in for a reserved booking without prior notification. This fee is implemented to ensure that resources are managed effectively and to compensate for lost opportunities to other members seeking reservations. Understanding this fee structure is essential, as it encourages timely communication regarding any changes in your plans. By familiarizing yourself with the specifics of the no-show fee, you can better navigate your membership and avoid unnecessary charges. On Another Note – Maintenance Fees 

Maintenance fees are an essential aspect of club membership as they contribute to the upkeep and improvement of facilities and services. We are pleased to announce that there will be no increase in maintenance fees for 2025. This decision reflects our commitment to providing value for our members while ensuring that we can continue to maintain high standards across all our properties.

  1. Even though the maintenance fee is not changing for 2025, which is appreciated, it should have been included in the newsletter as a refresher for the vacationers. The vacationers should also be encouraged to pay various fees in US $ before arrival rather than the resort charging it in local currency and unnecessarily paying the exchange fee, at least, for US residents and perhaps for many others. Thank you.

  2. More fee increases…. You also should have included the 50% to 80% increases that have been implemented for club time to this update! I was shocked last February when I added a week of club time to my 2025 reservation.

        I’m a brand new member, trying to get a grasp of the various point systems, etc. The post above refers to “adding a week of club time to a ’25 reservation”. What exactly is “club time”? I haven’t heard or read about that yet………or is it another term for the optional purchase of “Preferred Points”?

          We’re excited to have you with us. “Club Time” gives you access to extra space from the Developer (units not yet sold), which you can book separately from your points at a special rate. “Preferred Points” or “Preferred Time” offers space from other members who aren’t using theirs, available to you at a maintenance fee rate (lower rate.)
