October Wellness 2017 will be the third edition of the resort’s celebrated event dedicated to wellness, perfecting and building on the events from the last two years.
“I’m really excited about the program we are going to have for members and guests this year for October Wellness,” comments the Village Spa manager, Francisco Lugo. “We are currently finalizing the roster of fitness experts and wellness celebrities who will be joining us this year so that we can share this information with members and guests as soon as possible. What I can promise is that it is going to be a fabulous event for those who love looking after themselves inside and out.”
Fitness
In previous years, October Wellness has welcomed a number of international fitness experts coordinated by Fitness Vacation Exchange (FVE) to join the event, with instructors leading PiYo® LIVE classes, bootcamps, aqua zumba and specialized yoga classes, in addition to an extensive program of fitness activities led by the resort’s team. This year, FVE will be selecting instructors once again who will be leading classes that focus on the latest fitness and training trends. Furthermore, we will be hosting our annual Wellness Run on October 28, when both guests and staff join together to walk, jog or run 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) around the resort and its surroundings.
Meditation and Healing
Meditation classes are a strong element of the October Wellness program along with various healing rituals. Last year, members and guests were able to enjoy sound therapy and Mayan healing rituals. This year, you can expect more alternative therapies, and the Village Spa will offer special treatments and services in honor of October Wellness.
Healthy Cuisine
You can be sure that the whole resort will be helping you meet your wellness goals during October Wellness, with healthy options on the menus at all of the restaurants plus a juice selection at Caprichos Restaurant. Ask your waiter for the healthy options when ordering. This year, we will also be introducing activities related to the health benefits of wine, including activities such as talks about the anti-aging properties of grapes, wine-therapy treatments, and wine tasting sessions.
