Glam, glitz, and a great friendship highlighted the 2020 Annual Member Social hosted December 2-3 at Villa Del Palmar Flamingos in beautiful Riviera Nayarit. This year’s theme was “Casablanca.” The beginning of a beautiful friendship and every event was centered around replicating the classic film Casablanca. Each year UVC International hosts The Annual Member Social event as an opportunity for members to interact with other members and the club team.
While this year was certainly different due to social distancing requirements, we were thrilled to be able to host wonderful meetings. Members who attended had an opportunity to learn about the improvements at the resorts, see the new staff members who have joined the teams across all resorts, progress on Villa La Valencia (Villa Groups newest resort opening for members October 2021), and connect with fellow members and with club representatives.
The UVCI and Villa del Palmar Flamingos staff work diligently to create these outstanding events. Typically, these events welcome over 300 members, and this year, we had 80. One of the major events hosted, is the Eagle’s Wings Dinner and Auction which raises funds for various local organizations to help in the communities where The Villa Group resorts operate. This year, even with the low number of attendees, we are proud that the dinner and auction raised a record-breaking $34,000 for this Eagle’s Wings Foundation from very generous members who attended the dinner event. We truly thank the members who attended and contributed to the cause.
Finally, all members who joined us were treated to a goodbye plated “supper club” style dinner party complete with drinks and live entertainment centered around wonderful music hits inspired by the Casablanca theme. There was no DJ or dancing this year, so we extended the entertainment for our members to enjoy and it was wonderful.
