Cancun Destination Update-Favorite Shopping Locations

Cancun is a prime shopping destination with countless malls, markets, and boutiques. You can find a diverse selection of artisan products, European goods, fine jewelry, designer clothing, and tequila, amongst many other unique items. Popular designer brands include Gucci, Bally, Cartier, Ralph Lauren and Versace; these brands are often less expensive in Cancun when compared to the United States. Shopping hours are generally from 9:00 am or 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm or 10:00 pm. Please ask your concierge for more information.

Clothing

  1. Flamingo Plaza: A small, high-tech plaza that offers general merchandise such as beach gear, souvenirs, and sportswear. This plaza also offers a large variety of duty-free items and well-known restaurants such as Planet Hollywood and Pat O’Briens.

  2. Forum by the Sea: This shopping plaza has many name brand stores such as Tommy Hilfiger, Diesel, Harley Davidson, and Sunglass Island. An extensive food court, Hard Rock Café, and the Rainforest Café make this a pleasant shopping experience for all.

La Isla Shopping Village: This shopping mall is designed like a small village and boasts charming canals, small bridges, and walkways lined with trendy boutiques and restaurants including Haagen Daz and Johnny Rockets.   1. Ki Huic Market: This open air market is Cancun’s oldest crafts emporium. Souvenir shoppers will find a variety of cultural goods and many Mexican eateries.

  1. Mercado 23: This authentic and fun market will give you a true Cancun shopping experience. You can find fresh produce, flowers, food, and souvenirs such as piñatas and pottery here.

  2. Plaza Las Americas: An Americanized mall with a little over fifty stores, restaurants, movie theaters, a video arcade, and fast food outlets.

  6. Coral Negro: This mall is in the center of the city at a spot known as the “party center” where the hippest dance parties are found. A plethora of souvenir shops are found here for visitors to shop for the perfect gifts to take back home.

  1. Was there 2 years ago and your van to downtown/hotel/shopping was really inadequate. Twice a day and come back at 7:00 pm. Have to get a taxi. Not a place I want to return to. Any improvements on transportation since then. Otherwise, WOULD NOT RECOMMENT THIS RESORT.

      Thank you for taking the time to read our blog and submit an inquiry.

      Unfortunately, due to the taxi union restrictions in Cancun we are no longer able to offer a shuttle from the resort into town. The resort can set up taxi transportation for you or you can rent a car if you decide to visit Villa del Palmar Cancun.
