Farm-to-table restaurants are a growing trend around the culinary world, combining the work of organic farmers with master chefs for freshly prepared meals with locally grown produce, and the mixologists at Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto are always trying new, innovative ideas. The latest concept at the resort is farm to bar, using spices and herbs grown at the resort to create fresh and flavorful cocktails for members and guests. Sampling these original creations and learning how to mix your own cocktails will make your vacation more relaxing and continue to inspire you when you return back home.
Home-Grown Concept
The concept of farm-to-table dining is to reduce the distance that produces and meat travel before it’s prepared, creating more organic and fresh meals and supporting local farms. Not only are these meals rich in flavor, but the restaurant also helps support the community and the environment by not shipping in large amounts of food from other parts of the world. Because the chefs rely on locally-grown produce, the menus are constantly changing to reflect what’s in season. This gives chefs the ability to constantly be innovating and creating new dishes. Diners can also feel safe about what they’re eating, knowing where it comes from and how it’s grown.
Farm-to-Bar at Villa del Palmar Loreto
At Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto, the natural flavors of herbs and spices are taking cocktails to a whole new level. When you sit down at The Market Restaurant, you’ll see lavender, mint, peppermint, basil, rosemary, thyme, rue, and oregano all growing in planters, and when you order your drink, the bartender will reach out and cut some fresh herbs rather than pouring artificial flavors and sticky syrups into your cup. During your vacation, you can sample a new herb-infused cocktail every day, giving you a fresh and exciting way to cool off in the afternoons.
Mixology Classes
After sipping on these fresh cocktails, you’ll be inspired to recreate them at home, and every Wednesday at 3 pm in The Market Restaurant, members and guests are invited to learn about the farm-to-bar concept and about how to make their own cocktail with fresh herbs. Begin your experience by learning about the growing process and seeing how the bar cultivates different herbs. With fresh herbs in hand, you’ll head over to the bar to prep the leaves and infuse them into the mixologist’s signature cocktails. After taking this class, you’ll have tips and tricks for making your own farm-to-bar drinks at home.
Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto is committed to being an environmentally conscious resort where travelers can invest in their own wellbeing. Whether they’re walking along the beach, playing a round of golf, or even sitting at the bar, members and guests will be able to feel a little closer to nature. Instead of serving artificial flavors and sugary syrups, the farm-to-bar cocktails are infused with fresh herbs grown directly at The Market Restaurant. For a fresh and flavorful drink, there’s nothing better than one of the mixologist’s signature farm-to-table cocktails.

We have been trying for a couple of years to find out the cost of golf. We are not on the points program but rather would buy a package /pass for x# of rounds per week. We would love to come for 2 weeks, but without golf, there’s not much to do.
Hi Roberta,
We will have an agent contact you to give you pricing on golf.
