Las Caletas Beach Hideaway

This month I visited Las Caletas Beach Hideaway, located about a 60 minute boat ride from Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta or a 90 minute boat ride from Villa del Palmar Flamingos. I booked a tour with Puerto Vallarta Tours at the Activities Desk in the lobby that met at the Vallarta Adventures Office at 7:30 am and returned around 4:30 pm.

Upon arriving at the Vallarta Adventures office, continental breakfast was provided after we checked-in. Upon boarding the boat, the staff gave an overview of the activities available for the day. The boat ride there was gorgeous as the time change had just occurred and I was able to watch the sunrise over the Banderas Bay, shown in the photo below.

Upon arriving to Las Caletas, you instantly feel transported into a realm of relaxation. The island has a calming scent of incense burning all around it with the faint sounds of drumming. This island has no wi-fi, is located in a serene location, and includes a welcome taco, lunch and an open bar (all included with your ticket). You do have the option to purchase premium encounters including the marine life encounter, flyboard, spa services, scuba diving, and power snorkeling.

Mezcal tasting

During my time on the island I enjoyed lounging in the hammocks over the ocean, the nature hike, the animal encounter (I got to hold a spider monkey), mezcal tasting, and a facial at the spa (which was an incredible price given the location and ambiance). I also savored a rum filled coconut (which was an additional cost) overlooking the beauty of the island.

Here are a few photos from my trip:

My favorite part of the island: the hammocks!
The view from the Bar where the mezcal tasting occurred.

I felt like I had been transported onto a magical deserted island. The island boasted lush jungle scenery and unique orchid gardens along with everything you will need to relax and disconnect for the day. There’s nothing like relaxing on a tranquil hammock as you sip your drink of choice and watch the calming waves move underneath you.

Visiting Las Caletas is a must for anyone looking to relax, escape the hustle and bustle of the city, and truly experience island tranquility.

  1. Thankyou Brittany for the well written short articles. I have enjoyed each one. Loreto is our “home” resort and Carol and I have been with Ramsees snorkeling a few times out by Danzante island. Each time it’s great. We’ll check out Las Caletas next time we’re in PV. Keep up the great writing. Much appreciated.
