The First Annual Paella Festival was held at the Hotel Sheraton Del Mar Golf & Spa Resort on Saturday, June 4, 2016. This event featured a live cooking competition in which our own Chef Remby Rubio from Neptune Seafood restaurant at Villa del Arco participated.
This event was put on by The Los Cabos Rotary Club and all proceeds were donated to support the Scholarship Project in Cabo for disadvantaged youth. The Scholarship Project has partnered with ten academically deserving children from elementary through high school to give these children the necessary tools and skills needed to attend and complete a four year college program.
At the First Annual Paella Festival, chefs had 15 minutes to select their ingredients within the hotel’s market with one surprise ingredient drawn and assigned to each resort. The chefs then had one hour and thirty minutes to prepare paellas for the judges and the public to taste. The children in the Scholarship Program assisted the chefs in this competition.
We are happy that Chef Remby Rubio from Villa del Arco was selected to partake in this event to support the future education and lives of children in need.
Awesome – such an honor to be a part of a worthy cause!
