Member Sandy Basler recently traveled to Villa del Arco following the government-mandated shutdowns that took place across the world. Below they share a brief recap of their extraordinary experience.
We just returned from Cabo San Lucas and our stay at the Villa del Arco. We had a FABULOUSLY AMAZING time!!!!
We were a little hesitant about traveling with COVID-19 ramping up in Texas. We were totally surprised about how Mexico is handling this pandemic.
Upon arrival at the airport, we were given a temperature check and had to fill out a health form confirming that we had not been exposed to and weren’t having symptoms of COVID-19. Once we breezed through that, Cabo Seasons was waiting to pick us up.
Upon arrival at Villa del Arco, we stepped our shoes into a sanitizing solution, were given a temperature check, sanitized our hands, then we entered and checked in. Every employee wore a mask everywhere throughout the resort. You need to wear your mask when entering the restaurants on-site, but you could also remove them once seated [the seating is 6 ft. apart].
We went to the dinner show, “Grease.” It was very entertaining and enjoyable. The pool area lounge chairs were kept separated from other parties. Bartenders and event staff all wore masks. Bartenders around the pool are FANTASTIC!!! Big shoutout to them for their outstanding service. Even when we ventured down to the beach, as the vendors came up to the roped area, the pool manager came down and assured that everyone was social distancing (the vendors that is)…. very well handled.
We ventured into town and every restaurant, shop, or bar we went into had to follow sanitization protocols. To enter any business, we had to step into a foot solution on a rug, so it cleaned the bottom of our shoes, a temperature check was completed, we applied hand sanitizer, and wore our masks. Be sure to always wear your mask in a taxi. At one point, we all forgot our masks and the front desk of del Arco gave us masks, so we didn’t have to go back upstairs. That is customer service.
The safety precautions took seconds and I’m sure made a huge difference. There were 6 of us in our party and it never took more than just a few seconds to sanitize. We were all very, very impressed.
Upon returning to Houston, there were no issues at all. We are looking forward to coming back to Cabo!
