Meet Ulises Lopez Torres, Our Puerto Vallarta Region Painter!

If you have traveled to Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta or Villa del Palmar Flamingos recently you may have noticed some paintings around the resort. We are pleased to announce that these paintings have been completed by Villa Group’s very own painter, Ulises Lopez Torres! Read along for our interview with Ulises below to learn more about his passion for painting and where you can spot his creations around the resorts.  

Interview with Ulises Lopez Torres: 

Tell us a little bit about your experience painting. 

For as long as I remember, I have always painted. Growing up, my father was a painter, and I grew to love painting with him. I like to paint things that make people happy and am passionate about sharing my art with others.  

I am so blessed to be able to do what I love for work. I have been working for the Villa Group for five years now and am so happy to be able to make beautiful art every day for others to see.

What do you do in your role as a Painter? 

Mainly, I paint. I paint in the rooms, public areas, special event props, and certain restaurants at the Villa Group Resorts in the Puerto Vallarta Region. For example, I painted the mural in El Patron Restaurant at Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta, I have painted backdrops for New Year’s Eve parties, and recently I have added painting designs on the walls in the rooms at Villa del Mar.

Where are your paintings located? 

Throughout Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta, Villa del Mar, and Villa del Palmar Flamingos. I have painted the walkway railings for the pools at both Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta and Villa del Mar. I have added scenic paintings to restaurants such as Yashinoki, painted the lampshades in rooms at Villa del Mar, and have made backdrops for parties at Villa del Palmar Flamingos. I keep painting more and more, so chances are if you see new artwork at the resorts, it was me who painted it.  

Can you tell us about your mural painted in El Patron Restaurant, Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta?  

This mural is called “A Day in Puerto Vallarta” and showcases three different key images and times: the morning, afternoon, and evening in Puerto Vallarta. The mural highlights the famous seahorse statue shown on the Malecon in downtown Vallarta. It shows the famous Puerto Vallarta sun (both the sunrise and sunset), the local people in town, the arches in town, and the beautiful scenery that you will see in Puerto Vallarta. In this mural I painted colorful houses, an iguana (since we see these a lot here), flowers, and the main street. Overall, this mural shows the vibrant life of Puerto Vallarta and the beauty that we see every day here.
