Most members know that the resort offers activities. Fewer realize how much of the weekly schedule was designed specifically for them.
Every Villa Group property runs a Member Event program throughout the week, a calendar of social, cultural, and educational experiences created not to sell anything but to bring members together, deepen the connection to the destination, and help owners understand and use what they have. These events do not require a separate trip or a block of vacation days. They run alongside the regular resort experience, available on whatever day of the week suits you.
The Member Cocktail Party is the event members come back to most consistently and describe most warmly. The format is simple: appetizers, cocktails, and a room full of people who share the same access to the same remarkable places. Members who have attended talk about it as one of the moments when the word “membership” stopped being about a contract and started being about a community. The conversations that begin at the cocktail party have turned into lasting friendships more often than anyone keeps official count of.

The cultural events serve a different but equally genuine purpose. The weekly Spanish lessons are light, conversational, and practically useful, covering phrases that change daily interactions with local staff and vendors in ways that most members say they immediately notice. The cooking classes go deeper: a resort chef teaching the preparation of traditional regional dishes, explaining the ingredients, the history behind them, and the techniques that have been passed down rather than published. Members who have attended a cooking class almost always bring the recipe home. Several have described it as the moment that made the destination feel like more than a resort.
Membership 101 deserves particular mention because it is the most consistently underused event in the schedule and the one that most members wish they had attended earlier. It is not a sales presentation. There is nothing to buy, no upgrade conversation waiting at the end, no obligation of any kind. It is a clear, no-pressure explanation of how the membership works: reservations, point systems, booking windows, cancellation policy, and the benefits most members have not fully discovered. Members who attend in the first few days of a trip routinely say the session changed how they used their time for the rest of the stay. It runs weekly at every resort. The schedule is available at the activity desk or through the concierge.

For Elite Members, a separate calendar of smaller, more personalized events runs alongside the general program. The Elite Cocktail Party brings together 5 Star, Residence, and Luxe Elite Members in a more intimate format. Elite culinary events offer the same hands-on cooking experience as the standard class but with a smaller group, more direct interaction with the chef, and a more personalized session overall. These events are one of the things Elite Members most consistently describe when asked what the upgrade gave them that they did not expect.
All of it, from the cocktail party to the language lesson to the cooking class to the membership education session, runs on the same principle: the membership is worth more when you are more engaged with it. The events exist to make that engagement easy.
Ask the concierge or the activity desk for the current week’s schedule at your resort. Show up to at least one. The members who do are almost always glad they did.
