Sustainable Initiatives at The Villa Group Resorts

At UVC International and The Villa Group Resorts, we believe in delivering a world-class luxury vacation while doing our part to protect the planet. Our resorts have many eco-friendly initiatives that embody our commitment to sustainability and conservation. From thoughtful recycling programs to wildlife protection efforts, we are proud to take steps toward preserving the natural environment that makes our destinations so extraordinary. Here’s how we are making a difference—with your help, of course!

Sustainability in Action

Keeping Beaches Pristine

We love our beaches, and our resort teams are deeply committed to preserving their natural beauty. Through regular beach cleanups, we work to prevent harmful debris like plastic, glass, and other waste from polluting our shores and waterways. These efforts not only protect the local wildlife that depends on a clean environment but also ensure that the breathtaking coastal views you enjoy remain pristine and picturesque for generations to come. It’s our way of giving back to the environment and fostering a sustainable future, one cleanup at a time.

Cutting Down on Waste

To reduce single-use plastics, all poolside beverages are served in reusable cups. For members and guests who prefer a straw, our resorts offer recycled straws, carefully chosen to minimize harm to marine ecosystems and support sustainability. These small yet impactful changes reflect our commitment to protecting our oceans and reducing plastic waste.

Additionally, our dedication to sustainability extends to the comforts of your room. To minimize waste, we provide reusable bottles for bathroom products such as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. These refillable bottles not only reduce the use of single-use plastics but also align with our mission to create a more eco-conscious and environmentally friendly stay for our members and guests.

Energy and Water Conservation

Your comfort matters to us and so does protecting precious resources. We encourage members and guests to reuse towels during their stay by only replacing them if left on the floor. Similarly, bed linens are changed every three days unless otherwise requested. Both practices help conserve water and electricity without compromising the luxurious experience you deserve.

Recycling Initiatives

We’ve implemented robust recycling systems to ensure waste is managed responsibly. This includes separate bins for organic and inorganic waste, making it easy for everyone to dispose of items correctly. Plastic, glass, and cardboard are carefully sorted and properly recycled, helping to reduce landfill waste and minimize the impact on local ecosystems.

Caring for Our Wildlife

Sea Turtle Conservation

Our beaches are home to some of nature’s most remarkable visitors—sea turtles, a truly awe-inspiring species that has existed for millions of years. When these turtles come ashore to lay their eggs, they embark on a crucial part of their life cycle. Our team works tirelessly to protect them, creating safe environments for nesting and guiding their safe return to the ocean. By monitoring nests, reducing disturbances, and educating the public, we play a small but vital role in ensuring the survival of these endangered creatures. These efforts are critical to helping sea turtle populations recover and thrive for future generations.

Managing Hazardous Materials

From remote control batteries to leftover paint, dangerous materials are carefully monitored and stored safely at our resorts to ensure the safety of all. With the combined efforts of our Maintenance, Housekeeping, and IT teams, these items are regularly tracked to prevent any risks. When it’s time for disposal, we follow strict procedures to ensure they are handled in an environmentally friendly and responsible manner, aligning with our commitment to sustainability and safety.

Sustainable Dining

From Garden to Table

At The Villa Group resorts, sustainability takes center stage in our dining experiences. Our restaurants feature fresh ingredients sourced directly from on-site gardens or trusted local farms. Seasonal vegetables and herbs are thoughtfully harvested to deliver authentic, homegrown flavors. The result is a dining experience that is as delightful for the palate as it is kind to the planet.

Garden Compost Programs

Several of our resorts also run composting programs that transform kitchen scraps and other organic materials into nutrient-rich soil. This compost nurtures the gardens on-site, offering a sustainable food source for our resort’s restaurants.

Practices may vary by resort location. Please check in with your resort team directly on-site to learn more about their eco-friendly initiatives.

Your Role in Responsible Travel

At our resorts, we invite you to join us in making conscious choices that contribute to a sustainable future. Simple actions like turning off lights when leaving your room or keeping doors closed while the air conditioning is running can significantly reduce energy consumption. These small, thoughtful habits play an essential role in protecting our planet while supporting our commitment to sustainability.

Sustainability is a collective effort, and together, we can drive meaningful change. By choosing to skip daily towel changes, you help save water and energy, while using reusable or eco-friendly straws reduces plastic waste. Supporting initiatives such as resort gardening programs further promotes biodiversity and greener spaces. Every choice you make contributes to a healthier environment, and we’re grateful for your partnership in creating a brighter, more sustainable future.

  1. Greetings,

I enjoy the benefit of having both Villa and TAFER contracts. I am also Elite Residence status I was looking at possibly booking a 2-bedroom ocean front at VDP Cancun. I put in the dates I am looking at under a Villa contract and there was no availability for me I put the same room type and dates under the TAFER contract and there was availability. I am just curious as to limitations (priority) using the Villa contract vs TAFER contract when booking at VDP-Cancun. I thought it would be equal footing. Thanks for addressing my inquiry.
