Los Cabos
Enjoy Fun-Filled Beach Days
As spring approaches, it becomes more challenging to resist the thoughts of summer. But, if it’s not warm in your country yet, Mexico is the perfect place to soak up the sun and get the vitamin D you need! Los Cabos awaits you with its spectacular beaches, which are considered some of the best in the world.
Spend a day at Medano Beach, Chileno Beach, Playa el Divorcio, or Playa el Amor and let your body be sun-kissed!
Pay a Visit to the Hot Springs
You may know Los Cabos for its beaches and exciting nightlife, but the resort city has so much more to offer its visitors. Although it is nice to simply sit around the luxurious pools, maybe it’s time to try something more unique! Did you know that you can find thermal springs close to Los Cabos?
Within the Sierra de la Laguna Biosphere (north of Los Cabos), there are many thermal springs. Some of them are inaccessible for visitors, but two are pretty easy to find and enjoy – El Chorro and Santa Rita Hot Springs. Both are located just an hour away from San Jose del Cabo and will prove to be an excellent day trip!
Puerto Vallarta
Climb Monkey Mountain
It is always fun to test your physical abilities. Those who aren’t afraid of challenges will certainly enjoy climbing Monkey Mountain, which is set along the north coast of the Banderas Bay. Its name might seem funky, but don’t let that fool you! Monkey Mountain is the largest landmark south of Punta Mita.
The one-hour ascent may be a challenge, but you will be rewarded with views of the tropical jungle, exotic trees, and unmatched vistas of Banderas Bay. On your way up, you will encounter fascinating creatures which live in the natural ecosystem, like lizards, exotic birds, butterflies, and so much more. Plus, you’ll get phenomenal views of the Bay!
Stop by the Palo Maria Waterfall
Another spring experience you shouldn’t miss is visiting the incredible Palo Maria Waterfall, which is located in the Sierra Madre Mountains. To get to the actual waterfall, you will have to go on an enjoyable one-hour hike. On this journey, be prepared to climb over rocks and wade through shallow waters. Along the hike, you will be surrounded by flowers and plants in all shapes, colors, and sizes. This jaw-dropping waterfall is well worth the trek! During heavy rains, we advise that you hold off on visiting this area.
Cancun
Swim in Cenotes
Mexico is famed for its spectacular natural beauty. Only along the Riviera Maya, which is home to Cancun and Playa del Carmen, can you find cenotes – underground caverns that are filled with crystal-clear water. These ancient wonders once used to be important to Mayans, which considered them to be a source of power. Now, many residents and tourists alike enjoy these unique formations for a beautiful setting to swim in.
Near Cancun, you will find many cenotes, but Cenote Zaci, Cenote Dos Ojos, Cenote Azul, and Cenote Jardin del Eden are some of the most impressive cenotes in this area. Don’t forget to bring an underwater camera to capture the unforgettable moments and awesome views!
Explore the Ruins
Spring is an awesome time to visit the ruins since the weather is so nice. Chichen Itza, Coba, and Ek Balam are top favorites in the area, all located three hours or less from the resort. As you learn more about the local culture, make sure you bring your camera to capture all the unique sites you will see!
Islands of Loreto
Go Whale Watching
Did you know that the Sea of Cortez is one of the most diverse seas on Earth? Throughout the year, many different marine animals can be spotted in Loreto. During your spring vacation, go whale watching!
The whales show up from December to March, so spring is the last moment to see them up and close. If you are lucky, you might also meet other animals, like the leatherback sea turtle, manta ray, and killer whale.
Hike Tabor Canyon
Spotting wildlife isn’t the only thing the charming seaside town is known for. In Loreto, you will find many fantastic hiking trails. The Tabor Canyon Trail is of moderate difficulty, but fairly short, so hikers of all levels can enjoy this canyon.
Along the way, you will be enchanted by waterfalls and exotic flora and fauna, so don’t forget to bring your camera and capture its allure! Keep in mind you will have to boulder over some rocks, so remember to put on your most comfortable shoes.
Walk the Loreto Malecon
There is no better way of enjoying spring than heading on a walk along Loreto’s promenade. Take in the magnificent ocean views and keep your eyes open – if you are lucky – you might spot stingrays, whales, or even dolphins.
For an even more memorable experience, visit the Malecon during sunset hours and take a postcard-worthy photo!
There is something magical about spring. As everything begins to bloom, the world seems to become a more inspiring place. So come to Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, or the Islands of Loreto to enjoy the beauty of spring and make new memories that will last a lifetime. We look forward to seeing you soon!
