Cancun’s thirteen mile coast features soft white sand, warm weather, and vibrant shades of bright blue and turquoise-all of the elements that make up the perfect beach. The entire Hotel Zone is lined with beaches where visitors and locals alike can enjoy relaxing on the beach, swimming in the Caribbean Sea, and sipping a margarita. Here are some recommended beaches in Cancun where you will find experiences to compliment your interests.
Playa Chac Mool
Playa Chac Mool boasts an expansive stretch of pristine sands and sparkling water located in the Cancun Beach Hotel Zone. Vibrant colors, calm waters, gentle breezes, and the replica of the ancient Mayan statue Chac Mool (showcased in the photo above) set the relaxing ambience of this beach. If you want to spend some of your vacation on the beach with the locals then this is the beach for you. Come relax while soaking up gorgeous views of the Caribbean.
Playa Delfines
Playa Delfines is not only one of the largest beaches in Cancun, but has some of the brightest, clearest waters to be found along this stretch of coast. Delfines is a public access beach, though the space is shared in part with a private resort. It is a popular location for jet skiers, parasailers and pelicans, making it the perfect people-watching beach.
Playa Forum
Found in the popular Punta Cancun area, right behind the Coco Bongo nightclub, Playa Forum, sometimes called Playa Gaviota Azul, is the city’s most popular and social public access beach. Hangout on the sand, take a dip in the refreshing water, or enjoy a more upscale experience by spending an afternoon at Mandala Beach Club. You can find music, beer and laughter most days to enhance your overall beach experience. If you are looking to meet new people while enjoying the natural beauty that surrounds Cancun, then come spend a day at Playa Forum.
Playa Tortugas
Playa Tortugas is one of the only Hotel Zone beaches with almost no waves, making this an excellent location for swimming. Enjoy a gorgeous stretch of white sand with crystal, clear turquoise waters, towering palm trees, and beautiful tropical foliage in this family-friendly environment. This beach has an oceanfront restaurant, a marina, and a bungee tower over the water. Relax any way that your heart desires in this fun and lively location.
North Beach
North Beach (Playa Norte) is found on Isla Mujeres, which can be accessed easily by taking a short ferry that leaves from a port just a few minutes from the Villa del Palmar Cancun resort. Here you will be able to witness sunsets over the sea, which are rare in Cancun where sunrise is the specialty. The location, while not Cancun, is close enough to the city itself that it warrants a place on the list. The water there is just what you would expect of a Caribbean island; no rocks, no debris, no waves; just clear, warm water lapping on white sand.
I’ve been surfing using the net quite a few hours at the moment, but never ever came across any existing attention-grabbing write-up just like yours. It is really good-looking worth sufficient in my opinion. In my opinion, if many web masters and bloggers designed superior information resources you probably did, the world wide web will most likely be considerably more helpful than everbefore.I am going to book mark this post !! Will read through for a second time !! Thanks to your valuable information and facts.
Hi Nevada,
Thank you for your feedback; it is greatly appreciated.
Have a wonderful day!
Brittany
Hi Brittany,
Thanks for all the great information on beaches near the resort. We will have to get a rental car a check them out.
How is the beach at the VDP resort. We were there a few years ago just after it opened and were very unhappy with the conditions. There was a very hard slate service just under maybe an inch of sand. Felt more like playing volleyball on concrete than on sand. They were using wheel barrels to haul out black sea weed every morning and had what looked like poles with electric wire hanging from them all over the water. We had to paddle board around them. Have the conditions at the resort improved at all. We are coming out again in late May.
Don
Hi Don,
Thank you for your inquiry. I am sorry to hear that you were not able to enjoy the beach a few years ago during your last vacation. The concerns that you have described above are not the current conditions of the beach. Currently, members and guests are able to enjoy various beach activities on the beach at the resort. If you have any more questions about your upcoming vacation please feel free to reach out to us on here, our Facebook page, or by emailing memberservices@resortcom.com.
Wishing you a wonderful, upcoming vacation!
