Puerto Vallarta Resort Update-Iguanas at the Resort

While vacationing at Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta you may see iguanas at the resort, especially near the pool area. Mexico is a natural habitat for iguanas since they thrive in the tropical climate. Even though these little creatures are cute and interesting to watch, we need to respect their boundaries to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone at the resort.

Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta is committed to providing you with the best vacation experience possible. In an effort to further this commitment, we ask that all members and guests please refrain from feeding and touching the iguanas. Even though they are small and seem friendly, we cannot always predict the temperament of these animals.  Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta has added in two signs in the pool area that state “Don’t Feed the Iguanas” in order to help all members and guests remember this request while having fun in the sun.

We thank you for your cooperation with this and look forward to welcoming you back to your home away from home soon.

    1. Hi Gloria,

Thank you for commenting. The iguanas are not by the palapas. They are primarily found by the tennis court and the parking lot. If you have any concerns regarding the iguanas during your stay please contact the Front Desk so that these can be addressed promptly.

  3. It is always fun to see native animals when vacationing! Not sure I want them in the pool I am swimming in or on my chair while sun bathing. I experienced this at a resort in St. Thomas once and won’t be going back. I am heading to PV this fall and I am hoping the resort makes sure these creatures have their boundaries as well??

  4. My wife and I have been vacationing in Puerto Vallarta for several years now and love your city and especially the Flamingos resort. We have become friends with many employees and look forward each year to renewing our friendship. Some of your special people are Victorino, Daniel (pinchy), Tico, Conrado, and Jorge. We will be back in August and anxiously await their welcome.
