Universal Vacation Club International and the Villa Group place paramount importance on the safety and security of our members’ personal information. At all times, we protect and secure your information from outside companies.
ALWAYS:
-
Know who you’re talking to.
If you are talking to a legit representative of a company, they will gladly provide you with their phone number and extension and/or an email address that they can be reached at.
-
Don’t share your details.
If you get a random message or phone call, avoid giving out your account or personal information.
-
Don’t wire money.
Avoid sending money to individuals who present unsolicited offers regarding your vacation ownership. Be cautious, particularly if they request upfront payment for the purchase of your ownership. Similarly, do not comply with requests to wire money to unfamiliar individuals related to your membership. Retrieving funds sent abroad is exceedingly challenging.
-
Fact Check Communication.
A discrepancy of just one digit in the address provided by a scammer compared to the genuine company address, or an untraceable phone number from an incoming call, or repeated changes in the numbers calling you – all these are warning signs to watch out for. Stay vigilant and heed these red flags.
Tips to protect yourself and your membership:
- Don’t click on anything in an unsolicited email or text message asking you to update or verify account information.
- Don’t respond to an email, text message or phone call asking you to verify account information.
- Trust your gut. If something appears questionable or too good to be true, it likely is.
