Mandatory Government Fees Reminder – Cancun & Los Cabos

Thank you for being a valued member of our Club family! We wanted to bring to your attention the necessary government fees required in Cancun and Los Cabos. Taking a moment to familiarize yourself with the following information will ensure you are well-prepared and able to relax during your upcoming vacations.

Cancun Only Fees:

  • Government Environmental Fee: Please be aware that the Quintana Roo Municipal Government imposes an Environment Sanitation Fee on all resort guests, amounting to $31.12 pesos per person per night. This fee supports various environmental initiatives such as beach cleaning, water treatment, waste management, carbon emission reduction through LED lighting, reef preservation, wetland conservation, reforestation, and other sustainability programs. It’s important to note that this fee is separate from the Club’s maintenance fees, daily service charges, room rates, or meal plans.
  • Visitax Tourist Fee: Travelers aged 15 and above must pay a Visitax tourist fee of around $11.00 USD (or $224 pesos) per person when visiting Quintana Roo. This fee can be conveniently settled online or at the Cancun airport through the following web portal  ➡  visitax.gob.mx

Los Cabos Only Fees:

  • Environmental Sanitation Fee: The Los Cabos Municipal Government requires an environmental sanitation fee of $37.99 pesos per room, per night for all visitors to the area.

These governmental charges are stipulated by local authorities. These taxes are sent directly to the government; the resort does not receive any of these fees. Kindly note that the information provided above, including the fees, is subject to change without prior notice. We appreciate your attention to this update and eagerly anticipate your return to your home away from home soon.

Thank you for reading our blog and submitting your comments. These fees have been in place for the last year already.

  1. So does this mean that each couple will end up paying $62.24 per night on top of our exchange points? So for a week stay $435.68 at any resort in Cancun? Wow!
